The day’s rate for that metal and purity is published once and read here. Making charges per gram, per piece or flat; wastage as its own figure; stone value where there are stones. Every line on the bill can be explained back to an input.
Hand over an estimate at the counter and turn the same document into a bill on the sale, rather than typing it a second time and hoping the two agree. A draft bill is not filed with GST and says so.
What a document stamped is what it reprints. Nothing recomputes an old bill against today’s masters, which is the difference between a reprint and a different document with the same number on it.
Metal taken in against a sale settles as part of it: the exchange leg raises a purchase in the customer’s own name with its tested purity, and the balance is what changes hands.
